CFP: Panel Sandbox (Am Assoc History Med)

The call for panel and paper proposals http://www.histmed.org/aahm_papers.htm for the 2014 meetings of the American Association for the History of Medicine is now open (the proposal deadline of 9/27 is just 5 weeks away) . To help encourage the formation of lively panels, AAHM has created a new Panel Sandbox at the AAHM blog http://www.aahmblog.org/. This WordPress site is meant to serve as an additional space to post ideas for possible panels, so that you can connect with other scholars whose work might resonate with your own, and organize compelling, focused sessions around a shared theme or concern.

Please note that this site is *not* the portal for submitting proposals for submitting proposals for next year’s AAHM but rather a digital forum for bringing together scholars around questions, materials, and issues of importance to the field. Our hope is that the site will not only help in the organization of stimulating panels for AAHM Chicago, but that it may spark some other collaborations as well. If you are a researcher with a great paper proposal, but uncertain about whom you might work with on a panel, or who else currently works on related matters, why not put out a call? You may be happily surprised to discover new colleagues with related interests.
